Ackland Mall Reclaimed By Humans

After a period of no access yesterday lunchtime onwards, I logged on this noon to find that the mall has been heavily barricaded. This is was imminent, considering there were only one digit number of zombies inside each corner of the mall yesterday.

Bargain hunting days for toolboxes and ammunition begin again. Let the rebuilding commence.

So JP, I probably don't need to go to your corner of the burbs anymore. Ready to come home? :)

Appropriate Movie Title

The two words above describes my character's state in Urban Dead: revived - in a safe house - go to sleep - log in again to find the building had been attacked by zombies.

This has happened almost half a dozen times since the Ackland Mall Attack (the event is now historical enough to be capitalized).

I will stay a zombie for now, and will sleep in an open space beside a known revive point, to ensure to humans that I did not lose action points attacking a building or humans, but was on my way to the revive point.

One side note: Sir Joel saw me playing Kingdom of Loathing earlier, and said it appeared more "believable" compared to Urban Dead.

Two side notes: I have watched the movie above. It was my introduction to the pair of superb British actors, now divorced, and both having roles in the Harry Potter films. This suspense thriller has a modern day couple starting to recall a similar love affair in the past, where the guy ended up getting convicted for the murder of the woman. Is history going to repeat itself? Good flick, for its time.

Gravestone Appointment Not Kept

Sorry, JP, only read your reply about where to meet in UD now. Anyway, I'm alive again thanks to the Four Winds, and am in Westropp Bank [41, 47], the only place in the vicinity that I know has been EHB for several days now, and with several humans inside to maintain it.

It's also up to two blocks away from a hospital, police station and an NT building which hopefully will be easy to clean out now.

But more immediate problem is that since I'm infected (doesn't go away with reviving) I'm down to 1 HP when I got inside. Somebody better heal me quick.

As for "Microserfs", my copy is with Ms. Jeng, which her hubby read first. You can help me bug her about it, although there is another option I'd tell you about offline...

Following are the lyrics to one of the few retro-80's songs in my playlist these days, "Code Monkey" by Jonathan Coulton. The picture above is one of the few books about programming before the turn of the 21st century I most relate to, with a Lego code monkey on the cover.

Code Monkey get up get coffee.
Code Monkey go to job.
Code Monkey have boring meeting
with boring manager Rob.

Rob say Code Monkey very dilligent
but his output stink.
His code not functional or ellegant
what do Code Monkey think?

Code Monkey think maybe manager wanna write god damn login page himself.
Code Monkey not say it outloud.
Code Monkey not crazy, just proud.

Code Monkey like freetos.
Code Monkey like tab and mountain dew.
Code Monkey very simple man.
with big warm fuzzy secret heart.
Code Monkey like you.
Code Monkey like you.
================================================

Code Monkey hang around at front desk.
tell you "sweater look nice".
Code Monkey offer buy you soda.
Bring you cup, bring you ice.

You say no thank you for the soda cause,
soda make you fat.
Anyway, you busy with the telephone
no time for chat.

Code Monkey have long walk back to cubical,he sit down pretend to work.
Code Monkey not thinking so straight.
Code Monkey not feeling so great.

Code Monkey like freetos.
Code Monkey like tab and mountain dew.
Code Monkey very simple man.
with big warm fuzzy secret heart.
Code Monkey like you.
Code Monkey like you. -- a lot
================================================

Code Monkey have every reason
to get out this place.
Code Monkey just keep on working
to see your soft, pretty face.

Much rather wake up eat a coffe cake
take bath, take nap.
"This job fullfilling in creative way."
Such a load of crap

Code Monkey think some day he have everything, even pretty girl like you.
Code Monkey just waiting for now.
Code Monkey says "someday, somehow."

Code Monkey like freetos.
Code Monkey like tab and mountain dew.
Code Monkey very simple man.
with big warm fuzzy secret heart.
Code Monkey like you.
Code Monkey like you.

Urban Dead Update

Havercroft and Ackland Mall have yet to recover from the recent orchestrated zombie attack. Add to that the problem of the implementation of a new rule concerning a new level of ransacking that is more difficult to rebuild, needing a toolbox.

On top of that, there's a misinformation campaign going around (using spray paint) telling those who want to be revived to sleep INSIDE vital structures (such as the mall and NT buildings), which effectively make it more difficult for reconstruction.

I have two options right now: keep returning to the real revive point every other day (after the lone safehouse I've found gets raided again and again) or stay a zombie for now and get Lurching Gait and Ankle Grab, and attack those who have put me in this situation.

Cards Transformed

This shows five out of the six planes (and helicopter) we were able to make using the 3D cutouts I bought at Subic.

One of them, by the way, came pre-assembled.

50 Really Good Indie Games

Nodwick.com provided me with this link. Personally, all I've spent time on so far is Flow. Read Part 1 of the report as well, I think it's pretty funny.
